Case Study: D E Floors Ltd – Altro Walkway 2.0 ‘Skyline’ Safety Flooring Installation

Project Overview

D E Floors Ltd recently completed a flooring project at Mendip Golf Club, enhancing the functionality and durability of their facility. The project involved the removal of the old safety flooring and the installation of Altro Walkway 2.0 ‘Skyline’. This robust safety flooring not only refreshed the space aesthetically but also improved drainage and hygiene, making it perfect for a busy sports environment.

Scope of Work

Subfloor Preparation

To ensure a long-lasting installation, careful preparation of the subfloor was carried out.

   •    Dehumidification – A dehumidifier was used to remove excess moisture from the area prior to  installation.

   •    Rip Up & Disposal – The existing flooring was removed and disposed of.

   •    Latex Compound Application – A latex compound was applied to create proper falls for drainage, ensuring water runs off effectively and preventing pooling.

Installation of Altro Walkway 2.0 ‘Skyline’ Flooring

   •    High-Performance Adhesive – The flooring was installed using AltroFix 19 epoxy adhesive for maximum bond strength.

   •    Heat Welding & Sealing – All joins were heat welded and sealed to ensure a watertight, hygienic surface.

   •    Durability & Safety – Altro Walkway 2.0 is designed for heavy use, offering slip resistance and easy maintenance.

The Outcome

The transformation at Mendip Golf Club resulted in a sleek, practical, and high-performance flooring solution tailored to the venue’s needs. The ‘Skyline’ finish complements the space while the improved drainage and sealed installation ensure longevity and hygiene.
