Case Study: Flooring & Decking Installation at a Cottage in Torquay

Project Overview

At D E Floors Ltd, we had the pleasure of supplying and installing a variety of flooring solutions and outdoor decking at a beautiful cottage located in the heart of Torquay. This extensive project included the installation of premium wooden flooring, carpet, and coir matting, along with a fresh new decking area for the customer’s balcony. The client sought a mix of aesthetics and durability, and we delivered a stylish and functional solution tailored to their needs.

Scope of Work

To ensure a seamless and high-quality result, our expert team undertook the following tasks:

Removal & Disposal:

The existing floor coverings and skirting boards were carefully removed and disposed of, ensuring no damage to the subfloor in preparation for the new installation.

Subfloor Preparation:

Our team applied a self-levelling compound to the subfloor to create a smooth, level surface. This preparation is essential for ensuring that the new flooring would be laid correctly and provide long-term stability.

Supply & Installation of Apollo Plus Carpets:

In the bedrooms, hallway, stairs, and landing, we installed Apollo Plus range carpets, a durable and stylish product chosen for its versatility and high performance in high-traffic areas.

Wooden Flooring for Ground Floor:

The ground floor was fitted with premium wooden flooring, selected to match the charm and rustic appeal of the cottage. We also installed new skirting boards throughout the property, enhancing the overall aesthetic and ensuring a polished finish.

Kardean Van Gogh ‘Marble’ in Bathroom:

For the bathroom, we provided the Kardean Van Gogh ‘Marble’ design, paired with a 3mm concrete grout strip, combining both elegance and water-resistance. This design choice complemented the home’s character while meeting the practical needs of a bathroom.

Coir Matting for Entryway:

To enhance the home’s entrance, we supplied and installed high-quality coir matting. This matting added a welcoming, natural touch, perfect for trapping dirt and keeping the interior clean.

Supply & Installation of New Decking for the Balcony:
